Climate Change & the Big Green Scam – Implications for the next big bang

The newest documentary on Netflix is called Life on our Planet

I loved it.  In eight episodes, it covers the history of the planet, and its life, from 500 million years ago until today.  It focuses equally on the evolution of the planet, its climate and living things.  We know that the earth has had five instances of total extinction of all living things, plant and animal.

It parallels the five major climate catastrophes.

Intermittent episodes of extreme heat, global volcanic activity, and extreme cold (ice ages), made all life to disappear and then to re-emerge each time.  Since the last cataclysmic event (the last ice age that ended 2.5 million years ago), the earth as seen almost nine million species develop and evolve from the first single organic thing that rolled out of the sea.

Today’s 9 million species represent only 1 percent of all the animal species that ever existed; 99% have gone extinct and not come back.  In prior ages, insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish and mammals have alternately grown in power, with one dominating all the others in one of the ages.  Since the last episode, mammals have emerged for the first time to be the dominant species.  Man of course is a mammal.   All mammals share 94% of their DNA, and only 6% of all DNAs differentiates the millions of species.

Life on our Planet is narrated by Morgan Freeman, perhaps the most liberal and passionate advocate of climate change alarm.  I think he is is too smart to have missed one of the obvious conclusions of this documentary, that the animals on the planet had nothing to do with the catastrophic events which caused the planet to wipe itself out five times, killing all living things, and climate extremes causing the land masses to change violently.

In this instance, I am including humans in “animals”.  Yet, Morgan Freeman believes that climate change is driven by humans. He has publicly stated his concerns about climate change and its human causes in interviews and has narrated documentaries and public service announcements on the topic. He even referred to those who resist the idea of climate change as "stupid" in one interview.

Freeman's environmental advocacy also includes turning his ranch into a bee sanctuary and supporting organizations like Oceana for ocean conservation. My opinion is that the reason for this dichotomous conflict in logic is MONEY, an addictive substance that many can never get enough of.   I am guessing he is smart enough himself to see his duplicitous behavior, while so many other climate alarmists aren’t.  while not publicly reported, the money he was paid to do the narration for this major documentary is between $5 million and $10 million.

Freeman would have been paid the top end of this. This is how he has accumulated his current new worth estimated at $250 million, after giving his ex-wife $150 million in 2010.

AOC is probably not as smart as Freeman, or doesn’t appear to be as smart, but her fanatical support of the New Green Scam is likely grounded in money also.  Before getting elected to congress, AOC had few assets and worked as an activist, a waitress, and bartender.  Her net worth then was a negative figure, owing to her college tuition debt.  It is now +$150,000, not a lot, but getting higher all the time.  Why she doesn’t have more is a good question, given her $174,000 annual congressional salary.

For the record, my net worth is between that of AOC and Morgan Freeman, and I don’t see wealth as a negative personal characteristic.  If you don’t see the dichotomy in what Freeman is doing, and you are not “brain challenged”, you will see that this climate alarmist behavior is most likely disingenuous or corrupt.

If it is not the greed, it is the corruption of power and desire to hold control over others.

“Value shaming” is an outgrowth of the pursuit of personal power and dominance over others.  The liberals continue to “value shame” anybody who expresses disagreement with the ‘Save-the-planet’ climate boondoggle.  Greed and pursuit of autocratic power are closely related drivers.  Stupidity is not in itself a negative quality, just an unfortunate personal deficiency.

There is nothing consequential we can do to stave off the upcoming 6th planet extinction event, it is what the planet earth does.  It will happen roughly 100 million years from now.

How do I know that?  I don’t, but it has happened 5 times in the last 500 million years, making the average interval between extinction events 100 million years.  it was only a short time ago, 2.5 million years ago that the last one happened and wiped out the age of the dinosaurs, and every other species on earth at that time.  Although he didn’t know he did it, that’s what Morgan Freeman told me.

Until 100 million years from now, or for as long as I live, I think I will be driving a gas fueled automobile, at least until they lift my license for bad eyesight and old age.  But I’d like to see AOC try to take away my gas stove and our gas fueled hot water tank.  Also, I intend to keep our gas fueled whole house Generac generator, for the twice-a-year power outages we endure.  Usually, it is because of a passing hurricane.

Now, there’s something they can take away from me – hurricanes.   I bet there is another old guy in Oklahoma who wishes they would take away his tornadoes.  Going to solar powered houses, or personal windmills probably won’t stave off either of those calamities.  I have one other comment coming from what I have learned indirectly from Life on our Planet.  I am through with picking up and replanting the divots I created on golf course fairways with my iron shots.

Like me, that fairway will not escape the next Big Bang.

I must say this.............I am not a bark eater or climate alarmist, but I am a thinking and patriotic citizen.  where it doesn't cause larger hardships, I will follow some of the "save.the.planet" rules and guidelines, like recycling plastic waste, not driving a gas guzzling auto, not overusing paper and packaging, and keeping an eye on wasting clean water.

But none of this is to avoid climate change. throwing plastic bottles and packaging in he regular trash or along the roads adds to the developing "plastic patch' in the middle of the oceans, which is harmful for fish and sea creatures.   Driving higher mileage cars saves a lot of money, as does limit wasting of wood products and money, saving water saves a little money, but preserves the scarcest resource on earth which hurts many people in developing countries, and we must do this or we may run out much sooner than we will run out of fossil fuels.

In a related news announcement:

Antarctica has experienced a surprising increase in ice mass between 2021 and 2023, primarily due to anomalous precipitation, marking a temporary shift from decades of ice loss.

Recent Ice Gain

Recent studies indicate that Antarctica gained approximately 108 gigatons of ice per year from 2021 to 2023. This increase is significant enough to temporarily offset global sea level rise by about 0.3 millimeters per year during this period. The gains were particularly notable in East Antarctica, where several major glacier basins, including Totten and Denman, showed signs of recovery after years of accelerated mass loss.

Causes of Ice Gain

The increase in ice mass has been attributed to anomalous precipitation, which includes higher-than-normal snowfall. This phenomenon is not indicative of a long-term trend but rather a temporary anomaly in the climate system. Researchers emphasize that while this ice gain is encouraging, it does not signify a reversal of global warming trends.

Implications for Climate Change

Despite the recent gains, scientists caution that this shift does not mean the climate crisis is over. The long-term trend for Antarctica has been one of significant ice loss, particularly in the last two decades. The recent ice accumulation is viewed as a brief respite rather than a definitive change in the overall trajectory of the Antarctic Ice Sheet.

Conclusion

In summary, while Antarctica has added ice in recent years, this development is part of a complex and fluctuating climate system. The gains are linked to temporary weather patterns and do not alter the broader concerns regarding climate change and its impacts on global sea levels. Continued monitoring and research are essential to understand the long-term implications of these changes in Antarctica's ice dynamics.
