Killing the Snake: Humanity is at Stake
John Shoemaker, March 1, 2026
Since the overthrow of the Shah of Iran and the beginning of the Ayatollah, the World has had the burden of a terrorist regime that threatens World peace, killed tens of thousands of people in many different countries, and the stakes were about to get even higher with the nuclear option.
This escalated from a civil war to the real potential of nuclear Armageddon. The facts are clear, and the list is long, despite those who would continue to ignore, deflect, and appease Islamic Iranian extremism. Iran demonstrated for decades its evil intent as an Islamic Caliphate in bringing death in the name of Allah. America paid a high price in numbers killed and billions squandered trying to buy peace with murderous thugs who would not be satisfied. Hell-bent on terror, they were masters of it.
The presidents of the US were afraid to deal with the problem. Other countries were intimidated. Israel was in a fight for its very survival. Weak leaders made Israel the aggressor while ignoring Iran’s proven actions.
Then along comes someone who is not afraid of threats and decides it will not continue on this watch. Trump joins forces with Israel, and after months of more useless negotiation in a rat hole, he sees the situation for what it is and not for what he hoped it would be.
Trump pulls the trigger along with Netanyahu.
With excellent intelligence and superb military execution, in the first hours of the opening war, the Ayatollah and 40 of his highest officials were sent to meet their 72 virgins.
This conflict was delayed for decades due to ignorance, weakness, and procrastination. World leaders would seek refuge in their defilade positions and wished things would change.
They did not. It got worse.
Instead of the eventual missiles and drones with nuclear missiles that would wipe out millions, those who pulled the trigger first would at least delay Armageddon for another day, decade, or century.
If anyone had any interest in the truth beyond the Marine Barracks in Lebanon, or the Islamic attacks in Africa, or the horrible wars in Somalis, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, and the Oct 7 attack by Hamas on Israel, and so many others, the truth is Iran wanted to spread terror, death, and destruction. Period. Full stop.
Even in the last few months, with so many Iranians protesting the incompetence of the government with the lack of water in Tehran (yes, no water in a major city of millions requiring evacuation plans), the out-of-control inflation, lack of jobs, poverty, food shortages, and horrific police actions, what is the Ayatollah’s response?
More of the same.
Over 32,000 citizens were killed by police and military forces. Thousands more are imprisoned just for protesting. Women were repeatedly raped and scores had their wombs removed before being released.
The World has seen it all.
Enough is enough!
Now, what is the status? In my opinion…
1. I do NOT think China will get involved. No matter all their chatter. They will be hurt by the loss of Iran as a partner. Their primary interest is getting oil. They need it for their economy. America can save the situation and will be in a strong negotiating position to keep China out of the conflict.
2. I do NOT think Russia will get involved either. They are really screwed with the loss of Iranian-manufactured drones used in the Ukrainian fighting. With Musk shutting down Starlink, Russian units are particularly vulnerable, as they lack a communication network. Russia is suffering. Their military is in a mess. Their economy cannot support years more of this craziness. He needs buyers for his oil to continue funding. Drones have completely changed the battlefield and turned Putin’s thousands of tanks into scrap metal. Putin, seeing what was done in Gaza, Venezuela, and Iran, may be forced to come to the peace table.
3. LOSS of the Port at Kharg Island would be a catastrophe. This is very important for the recovery effort to fund rebuilding Iran and to bring the price of oil down again.
4. LOSS of the Strait of Hormuz is a huge problem. We must not allow this to be closed for long. Yes, a ship could be sunk in the Strait to tie up oil tanker traffic for weeks/months.
5. Iran's attack on so many Arab nations creates the final doom for Iran. Even the reticent UK admits missiles were targeting their Navy base in Cyprus.
6. Success depends on how responsive the citizenry will be in fighting the hardliners. This will be aided by drones striking everywhere and controlled by Iranian dissidents. The intelligence network inside Iran is significant and may be the defining factor in changing the ground game.
The future has a very bright spot due to the Abraham Accords, which is the framework for peace – possibly lasting peace in the Middle East. So many Arab nations were either against, neutral or afraid to join the Accords as it would offend another Arab nation - Iran. But Iran committed a mortal sin -- it sent hundreds of missiles against many of those neighboring Arab nations, including the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria -- besides Israel. That will force these countries to wake up and recognize the real danger they face. Imagine how they would be affected with a nuclear-armed Iran.
Trump has made a brilliant tactical decision based on a more complicated and calculated strategic play that will affect generations to come.
It is not over, but surely we can pray for Trump to succeed – even in the face of his envious and vile detractors who would love to see Trump fail, even if it hurts, even kills many people in the World. They have their own agenda to gain power.
Pray for Trump, Israel, and all humanity.
