Blog #258 Massachusetts is proof? America is Doomed.
By John Shoemaker
Is it proof that America is doomed?
If politicians have an increase in support — even if their performance is rife with corruption, incompetence, outrageous actions against fiscal common sense, with waste, abuse and fraud — then we are doomed. Not just because this is happening in Massachusetts, but it is real in other States like CT VT ME NY NJ MD VA IL OR WA and CA.
America is moving towards socialism. They seem to want to allow bigger government, more rules & regulations, less law enforcement, open borders, and lots of free stuff like healthcare, welfare, social payments.
Read the news article below in a Boston newspaper.
America has a growing population that accepts less freedom and choice, less wealth creation, and more unearned income from government that has greater control over their lives. They believe life is easy and work is not needed.
In essence, we are looking at a new society that favors laziness living on the dole and less rights in a nanny state. We will surely become weak. We will give up individual pursuit of happiness, self-reliance, and it will kill motivations and initiatives to sacrifice, work hard, and take financial risk to innovate and operate business for wealth creation. If anything, success will be taxed to smother it. Accountability will be lost. America’s incredible record of innovation will shrink as it has done in Europe. Meritocracy will be broken. The ruling class will reign supreme with impunity in a one-party country.
America, as founded and known as the wealthiest, most innovative, and successful in human history, will succumb to a new way of life that will be subservient to others.
It may be inevitable and there may be truth to the idea… "My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I ride a Mercedes, my son rides a Land Rover, and my grandson is going to ride a Land Rover, but my great-grandson is going to have to ride a camel again."
'Why is that', he was asked? And his reply was — 'Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create difficult times. Many will not understand it but you have to raise warriors, not parasites.'"

Battenfeld: Maura Healey job performance soars despite rocky record

Maura Healey holds a job performance rating most politicians would kill for, despite a rocky first three years where she busted the budget on wasteful migrant shelter spending, failed to root out rampant fraud, and saw her aide arrested for drug trafficking.
Three-quarters of Democratic Massachusetts voters give the Democratic incumbent governor excellent or good marks, according to the latest polling, indicating she’ll face little threat from her Republican challengers.
Just 16% said Healey was doing a fair job and only 6% rated it poor, the latest Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll of Democratic primary voters this week showed..
Healey seemingly has managed a major feat – keeping moderate and independent voters relatively satisfied despite being framed by her critics as too liberal.
Peru frontrunner Fujimori warns against insurgency amid vote count
Could it really be that her Dunkin’ Donuts schtick dreamed up by her political consultants is working?
Healey in fact has faced more grumbling from Democrat progressives who maintain she hasn’t been liberal enough – but they will still vote for her this November.
How has Healey become almost a sure lock to win a second term?
Blaming President Donald Trump for all the state’s problems hasn’t hurt. In a deep blue state where Trump is unpopular, Healey wasted no opportunity to slam him at every turn. And the voters apparently are buying it.
The governor has also been extremely accessible and accommodating to the media and the public with a few exceptions over the last three years. She is not hiding in the bunker like Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, who often takes big chunks of her public schedule off for days.
It also helps that the major establishment media has defended Healey and has not held her feet to the fire throughout her first three years.
Her major offense according to the Boston Globe is that she doesn’t disclose where she’s going on vacation. It’s a big scandal.
The Globe unfortunately does not often use its institutional power to challenge Healey and other Democrats, leaving them with a free pass
Other polls conducted this year have similarly shown Healey dominating the field.
A University of New Hampshire poll released in February showed Healey leading all her Republican challengers, Mike Kennealy, Mike Minogue and Brian Shortsleeve, by about 30 points.
After the poll came out, Shortsleeve’s campaign said it showed he has “momentum.”
UNH is currently in the field with a new poll but don’t expect to see any different result. Healey is still the formidable favorite to return to the Corner Office next year.
Healey’s poll numbers have dramatically improved since last year, when 53% of voters said they were unsure or didn’t believe she should be re-elected. That number gave Republicans false hope, because now Healey looks unbeatable.
This despite the fact that moderate Republicans like Charlie Baker, Mitt Romney and the late Paul Cellucci have shown they can win gubernatorial races.
But Massachusetts has apparently turned even more blue over the last few years, dashing Republican hopes to win any statewide races.
Healey in fact sees herself as a major national player in Democratic politics and who’s to say she isn’t?
