Election Debacle: What to Expect Now?
Clearly, the Democrats buried most of the Republicans in this mid-term election, and the implications are profound.
I won’t spend time reviewing why the Democrats won, but will focus on the future of our Federal Government, our Country, our Cities, and what may happen.
· The Democrats now have a majority in both houses of Congress. They will develop a laundry list of bills to counter Trump and all his actions. It will be a traffic jam, with Republicans trying to prevent massive change, and supported by Trump’s veto. This will create conflict, and many young people are ignorant of how government operates. A big concern is whether the Democrat Socialists will take revenge on the one man they “hate” – Trump. This will mean not only lots of investigations and congressional testimony, but it will also be costly and time-consuming, and a major distraction from passing legislation.
· A major result of this election, and what makes it so different than other elections, is that we are moving to a One-Party Nation. The free bait offered by the DSA and Democrats will be too enticing for a population with high numbers of recent illegal and legal immigrants, low-income workers, the indigent, and others who expect to be taken care of by the government. We see this already in MA, NY, DC, IL, VA, WA, OR, and CA. The political apparatus is too strong in these states to be torn down. Bureaucrats rule. Instead, they will spread further across the country, even as they go deeper into debt. The successful people will migrate to Red States like TN, FL, and TX, which will see pressure to join the new National Party. This can only mean economic decline. Successful, entrepreneurial people who believe in a meritocracy, with proof in European countries, are demotivated and disconnected in a socialist world. This is a proven flaw in socialism that has always failed in the end. Unfortunately, a great deal of pain and suffering occurs for years until a revolution changes the structure.
· Top of the list will be the Iran War. The newly elected must be sworn in during January. Then it will take a month of debate before they will pass the War Powers Act to defund further military action. That does not go into effect for 60 days after passage. Therefore, Trump has until April/May to continue the war.
· There will be struggles in the Democrat ranks. The DSA will exert maximum pressure for their extreme agenda: everything from rejecting Israel, stuffing the SCOTUS, war on oil & gas, resurrection of WOKE/DEI, to opening our borders again. It will be a difficult time with controversial subjects. But many Americans who feel left out are excited about the diverse representation for women, gays, Indians, blacks, and such. Too many are affected by those who hate America.
· Juicy bait for the supporters of DSA is Medicare for All. While this is a major talking point for the Democratic Socialists, none of them understand how to fund it. The costs will be astronomical. If you add a hundred million users, access to quality healthcare will decline. The elderly will suffer greatly. Government-run healthcare has proven to be a disaster. Look at how Obamacare has increased member costs. This is proven when people from Canada, the UK, and elsewhere with free healthcare come to the US for emergency care.
· The DSA itself will be a tremendous threat to our way of life. Meritocracy is rejected. It focuses on socialism as the solution and plays double-talk while feigning support for capitalism. We will see government pressure to take control of or regulate businesses. They want the profits. We have seen Mamdani in NYC go after real estate, trying to take control of apartment buildings and tax second homes on top of already exorbitant taxes. But the DSA will try to nationalize many of their platform policies. They appeal to many voters since it is “free” to them, but we all know the cost will be high. We are a country enabling those who don’t work and don’t care to contribute but expect to take from the rewards of others.
· The plight of our Major Blue Cities will worsen. Even with years of failure, voters have ceded control of our cities to the DSA/Socialists, including NYC, Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Seattle, Portland, OR, and LA (with Raman over Bass). They will struggle with rent control, higher taxes, more regulations over business, homelessness, loss of taxpayers who move out of the city/state, more immigrants, less security, and more crime. Muslims will continue their efforts to take over city governance.
· Democrats are about spending tax funds. Therefore, we are looking at tax increases for those who earn reasonable compensation. While half the country does NOT pay Federal Income taxes, the focus will be on high earners – our successful entrepreneurs and corporate executives. They may try passing a National Wealth Tax. None of this will help any kind of economic growth strategy.
· Immigration will get major attention. This will include giving amnesty to illegals. Billions will be spent on providing free housing, healthcare, and other services. Anger will be directed at ICE. This will not be pretty as the DSA/Democrats attack ICE and Trump. They will want open borders, hopefully this time with some level of vetting to prevent bad actors from coming in, as done under the Biden Administration.
· Technology will suffer.Democrat Socialists are fundamentally business-unfriendly and technically ignorant. Politicians do not understand AI/SI or the truth about Data Centers, Chip Manufacturing, Software Development, and CyberSecurity. The destructive scare with false propaganda is hitting the NASDAQ very hard — losing nearly 3,000 points in the last couple of weeks. The Democrat Socialists want to stop/slow development of AI/SI, prevent building Data Centers by saying they will increase electricity and consume massive amounts of water (both not necessarily true at all), and how hackers from North Korea, China, and Eastern European groups can breach our software programs across all industries. By holding back on development of AI/SI, we will lose our leadership and be more vulnerable to attack, as North Korea has proven with their latest $6 billion Bitcoin hack. Also, through its unique capital-raising process with IPOs, the US has access to the capital that technology companies need to expand. Democrat Socialists almost view Wall Street as the enemy. Without access to capital, companies will not grow or invest in capital improvements and research. That is why the EU has been suffering a persistent economic decline. For sure, the attack on the DOW, S&P, and NASDAQ will hurt all Americans with their investments, stock portfolios, and retirement accounts/401Ks. That will translate into fewer jobs, fewer new companies, higher unemployment, and declining consumer sentiment.
News note: 11/05/2026…S&P 500 firms shed $2.9 trillion in market value and Nasdaq companies lost $2.5 trillion – both single-day records. The Nasdaq entered correction territory as investors panicked over a looming data-center reckoning in the wake of Democrats’ midterm sweep.
· Lastly, we can expect unrest in the US to grow. Congress will be slow to act, and the radicals will not accept this. We can see what happens in Europe, especially France, when even an ideal example of Socialism with free healthcare, colleges, childcare, low taxes, job security, and more is still not enough. The Socialists will not be satisfied. The more they get, the more they demand.
This is just a short list of the impacts the new political map will force on all Americans. Ultimately, the next two years will determine whether the US completes the transition to a One-Party Nation. If so, it will severely restrict voters' options and set the country on a very different path from the past. If the Democrat Socialists overreach, focus on litigation/investigations, hype regulations and high taxes, and all that creates rapid economic decline, the voters will still have a hard time correcting the political map, with most states run by Democrat Socialist Governors and bureaucrats who don’t care, as they are government workers with job security, and they are in charge.
It is clear: Voters have decided that America’s historical use of capitalism, meritocracy, and free markets to create enormous wealth will transform into a socialist state that will mean less growth, less innovation, and less freedom.
