Blog #246 Trump’s Historic Global Reset!

Trump’s Historic Global Reset has been happening at lightning speed.

John Shoemaker, March 2026

What we are witnessing is not just a global reset but a moment in history that will have an impact for generations to come. This strategic reset involves the military, the micro- and macro-economies worldwide, with the creation of a new economic structure within the US, and with our international relations, partnerships, alliances, and business policies.

Trump has looked at the pieces of the global puzzle of past foreign policy actions, national concerns of countries around the world, friends and foes, international alliances, including the US and not, and economic issues wrought by Globalism. As a result, he has set in motion an incredible list of major moves around the world.

Let’s summarize the substantive changes in this evolving strategic reset, supported by tactical brilliance, that is happening in hyper-speed:

. Israel and Gaza: Trump supported Israel’s invasion of Gaza to kill Hamas. Israel castrated Hezbollah and could focus on Hamas. The war ended with the destruction of Hamas, an Iranian proxy, while the civil war ended in Syria, which terminated its support for Russia and its only access for the Russian Navy to a Mediterranean or African port.

·       Remember Panama? Trump blasted China’s control of the Canal and threatened a military takeover. Well, months later, the contract between China and the Panama Canal Authority was proven to be corrupt, and China was terminated. Trump wins.

·       Greenland: Trump threatens to take this massive iceberg from Denmark. Why? China was making moves to gain military influence and a presence in Greenland. It was all about a military imperative. Again, while not finalized, Trump stops China.

·       NATO has been seriously affected, with countries finally paying ~5% GDP for their fair share of funding. Trump was right with his warnings about Russia, Russian energy use, and the need for NATO’s military preparation for war. Trump gains credibility.

·       No longer will Maduro in Venezuela send criminals and migrants escaping communism to the US across the southern border. In a swift raid, he captures Maduro and creates an upheaval in the Venezuelan government. We also get control of their oil production and transport. An important customer of Maduro: China. Now, Trump can control oil going to China.

·       Controlling Venezuelan oil gives Trump the ace he needed in strangling Cuba. The communists in Cuba have wrecked the economy and will be desperate for oil to keep the lights on. Their electrical grid, along with most of Cuba’s infrastructure, is in shambles. In sum, Trump will target removing Cuba’s regime in the coming months. Such changes in Venezuela and Cuba affect our foreign relations in Central and South America with a new “Trump Doctrine”.

·       The history of Iran as a long-time international radical Islamic terrorist government has met a President who would not compromise his demands to end the nuclear game they played for decades. Iran was all talk, broken promises, and still chanted “Death to America”. “Midnight Hammer” was the first clue. Iran did not listen, and the result was catastrophic for Iran.

·       The Iran War has destroyed Iran for the next couple of decades or more:

o   Iran’s Navy, Air Force, Ground Radar Installations, Nuclear locations, Military bases/communication/networking sites destroyed.

o   Drone and Missile manufacturing sites have all been devastated.

o   The leadership has been crippled with over 140 members killed, along with key government buildings.

o   All this while exhausting its inventory of drones and missiles by shooting blindly at everyone.

o   China’s radar and detection systems were easily destroyed, demonstrating the ineffectiveness of their equipment as expensive junk.

·       Iran shoots itself by sending missiles against nearly all its Islamic neighbors. What the Abraham Accords tried to do after years was impacted immediately by a week of war that turned Arab nations against Iran.

·       Iran’s oil primarily goes to China, which has no blue water or long-distance Navy. Trump can control the Strait of Hormuz and the shipment of oil to China. US warships will escort tankers through the Strait.

·       The impact on Russia is also compelling. No longer can Russia rely on supplies of drones from Russia. Elon Musk shut down Starlink access that Russia was using for multiple battlefield communications requirements in Ukraine. Plus, Iran was able to buy Russian oil, then re-export it to China and India. Russia needs the oil revenues to finance the war with Ukraine. Moreover, the “ghost oil tanker fleet” is nearly dead in the water, which will stop Russia's oil deliveries to other countries.

·       India struck a trade agreement with Trump and agreed not to support Russia and buy their oil. Tariffs have reordered the relationships we have with dozens of countries around the world. It resets trade to stimulate domestic manufacturing, or “onshoring” rather than offshoring, and is contrary to the past decades of Globalism that have hollowed out our entire manufacturing sector.

·       North Korea thought it could help Russia in Ukraine and sent 10,000 troops to fight. Poorly trained and unprepared for this new type of battlefield warfare, they lost thousands in short order, and all were withdrawn. Without N. Korea, Syria, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and China, Russia is alone. Its own economy is in shambles, and its military recruitment is strained. The war will end soon in Ukraine, and Russia will have drained its wealth to leave it crippled for decades, with its military disrespected. The lesson for the world is that warfare has been forever changed by the advent of land, sea, and air drones, or unmanned vehicles, combined with new GPS and positioning technologies. Similarities in warfare that change everything include the long bow, the rifle, the tank, the machine gun, the missile, nuclear bombs, and outer-space vehicles.

So many changes have happened in one amazing year. For the US, Globalism is dead, but Trump has also opened up many unknowns. Will the Kurds have a major impact in the War with Iran? Can Trump work out a new approach with Sheinbaum and Mexico in the fight against the Cartels? Will the Abraham Accords get most Middle East countries to sign on to enforce peace for the first time in centuries? What will happen when the Ukraine War ends? Will Gaza enter the next phase of planning and reconstruction? Will Greenland finally be solved on US terms? What will happen to Cuba and when?

The other major calamity for all countries is the continued rise of radical Islamic extremism.

Islam will remain as the existential threat to freedom and capitalism.

There is no easy answer for a form of governance and law hidden behind religion and its unrelenting push for control over humanity.
