Blog #171 Democrats Whine About Mistakes

“Mistakes were made.”

Remember when Bill Clinton was president and he got caught lying under oath in a civil deposition about Monica Lewinsky?

It was obstruction of justice. A crime, a felony. Except that as a Democrat, Clinton got to brush off his crime as a “mistake,” and use the passive voice — “were made.” So instead of “crimes were committed,” it was “mistakes were made.”

That was in 1998. In retrospect, it was the beginning of a whole cottage industry of excuse-making by Democrats for their appallingly bad, often illegal behavior.

The Democrats now are all Alibi Ikes, to use the old Ring Lardner expression.

Let’s start with mortgage fraud. The Democrats went after Donald Trump with lawfare — charging him with all sorts of nonsensical non-offenses, both criminal and civil.

Guess what’s happened. It’s the old story — you can always pick how to start a fight, but once it’s started it may not very well be your decision as to how to end it.

Just ask Sen. Adam Schiff. He was one of the lead conspirators in the Russian collusion hoax. It was all BS, 100 per cent. Now it’s payback time, and it’s all about his alleged mortgage fraud.

Schiff’s got two mortgages, in California and in Maryland. Turns out, he has two primary residences, with 3 percent mortgages. Must be nice! Problem is, this stuff is easy to run, especially if you have the entire federal government at your disposal.

As the Wall Street Journal noted this week, since January the Trump administration has put lawfare on an assembly-line basis. And unlike everything they did to Trump, this new generation of charges are all in black and white, cut and dried.

No man is above the law. Remember?

So Schiff goes on regime-controlled media and whines that he’s a victim of “weaponization.”

They’re weaponizing the criminal code against Shifty Schiff! How dare they! On cable, he tried to look really angry. But after the show, Pencil Neck went out and did something he never dreamed he’d have to do, given his status in multiple protected classes.

He set up a legal defense fund.

Winning!

But he’s just one of the Democrats Trump is going after on mortgage fraud.

How about Leticia James, the plus-sized attorney general of New York, who was elected on the platform of finding a crime to charge Donald Trump with.

Now it turns out she too owns multiple primary residences. She signed one document in NY claiming she was married to her father. According to a newer document, her legal domicile is in Virginia.

A four-apartment brownstone she owns in Brooklyn became a five-unit building, the better for insurance and property-tax purposes.

Now there’s a posse chasing her. She hired as her attorney an ambulance-chaser named Abbe Lowell, last seen representing a crack-addled bag man named Hunter Biden.

Lowell put out a letter accusing the feds of “cherry-picking” the evidence.

Cherry picking! That’s one of the new “mistakes-were-made” alibis. Bank robbers should use that excuse — why are you indicting me for robbing one bank? Do you know how many banks I didn’t rob?

You’re cherry-picking the banks!

Next comes Lisa Cook, the DEI governor of the Federal Reserve. She took out two mortgages on primary residences in a two-week period in 2021 — in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she’s a Claudine Gay-like professor of racial grievances, and Atlanta, Georgia.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.

Now it turns out Cook had a third mortgage — in Cambridge. Because all corruption somehow leads back to Massachusetts. Did I mention that Schiff is from Framingham originally and went to Harvard Law School?

Cook’s lawyer said these multiple primary residences were just “errors.”

“Clerical errors.”

“Inadvertent clerical errors.”

Is the theory that, if you’re really jammed up, all you have to do is throw in another adjective, and the grand jury will fail to indict?

The funny thing about all this mickey-the-dunce defense from all these esteemed Democrats is that most of them are lawyers. Don’t they understand that they’re supposed to, you know, read the documents, especially the ones you sign under pains and penalties of perjury.

Anyone who’s ever taken out a mortgage, or signed any legal document for that matter, knows the routine. The lawyer tells you to initial every page.

That way, if something goes sideways, you can’t claim it was an error. A clerical error. An inadvertent clerical error.

Maybe the Democrats should call it “mostly peaceful mortgage fraud.” Or “free-range organic mortgage fraud.”

Another thing she’s called the charges — “vague, unsubstantiated allegations.”

Again, two adjectives. And how much of an allegation are notarized, registered deeds, etc?

Here’s another one. What is it when Republicans bust Democrats for mortgage fraud?

“A measure of desperation.”

Takes one to know one is what I say.

Here’s what Trump told Lisa Cook: “You’re fired.”

How about the local judge in Milwaukee who let an illegal alien out the back door of her courthouse? Now she’s under federal indictment. Her phony-baloney defense? Letting the savage thug escape was part of her “official duties.”

Meanwhile, Tulsi Gabbard is in charge of separatingall these pablum-puking “intelligence officers” from the public trough. They all claim they’re spies, even though in most of their photos on line, they’re in evening gowns or tuxedos.

So Tulsi busts another crew of these trust-funded pretend spooks last week — stripping them of their national-security clearances, which are their tickets to John Bolton-like opulence. One of them, a blonde socialite, responded in a regime-controlled sheet that this was an outrage because she is “undercover.”

Undercover! This woman is on the lecture circuit. The reality is, the new synonym for “undercover” is “rabid Democrat activist.”

Making crime-ridden cities safe again? That’s “attacking” them — Mayor Michelle Wu’s description.

Did you know that the Ivy League is struggling to maintain “diversity?” By diversity, they mean their racist hiring and admissions policies.

All I can say is, Mistakes were made. The Democrats let Donald Trump get reelected.
